WVUH physical therapist receives community engagement award from WVU Center for Service and Learning

Rebekah Aranda, a physical therapist in Rehabilitation Services at WVU Hospitals, is the recipient of the 2021 Excellence in Community Engagement Award from the WVU Center for Service and Learning.

Aranda received the Staff Award for her community and state activism around voting registration. Her efforts were highlighted in The Wright Stuff in October 2020; they were also featured in a front-page article in The Dominion Post.

The Center for Service and Learning’s annual Excellence in Community Engagement Awards honor extraordinary accomplishments in engaged learning and community impact. The recognition criteria are founded upon demonstration of the Mountaineer Core Values of service, curiosity, respect, accountability, and appreciation.

The awards are presented in 10 categories: Social Action, Undergraduate Student, Graduate Student, Faculty, Staff, Service-Learning Instruction, Community Partner, Campus Partner, and National Service.
