Spoofing call attempts increase

Tuesday, June 14, 2022

The number of spoofing call attempts has significantly increased in the last week with local residents reporting calls from 304-598-4000 and 304-598-6000 (numbers within WVU Medicine) and, at times, being subjected to aggressive and threatening language.

WVU Medicine continues to investigate these reports and is working with the appropriate authorities to address them.

If you receive a questionable call, hang up immediately. Do not disclose any information.

Employees are encouraged to educate themselves on spoofing scams; visit www.fcc.gov/spoofing to learn more.
