New providers join WVU Medicine

The following providers joined WVU Medicine in December:

Morgantown

BEHAVIORAL MEDICINE AND PSYCHIATRY

Claire Baniak, PsyD, joins WVU Medicine as a pediatric psychologist at the WVU Medicine Children’s Neurodevelopmental Center. She earned her degree at Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky, and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at WVU.

Kendra Henline, PLPC, joins WVU Medicine as a clinical therapist at the Chestnut Ridge Center. She completed her training at WVU.

Tabitha Lindsay, PLPC, joins WVU Medicine as a clinical therapist at the Behavioral Medicine Westover location. She completed her training at WVU.

GASTROENTEROLOGY AND HEPATOLOGY

Shailendra Singh, MD, joins WVU Medicine as an advanced endoscopist/gastroenterologist at the Physician Office Center. He completed an advanced endoscopy, GI/hepatology fellowship at Allegheny Health Network. He was formerly in practice at Charleston Gastroenterology/Charleston Area Medical Center.

HEART AND VASCULAR INSTITUTE

Samantha Wise, AGNP, joins the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute as a nurse practitioner in the critical care medicine stepdown unit at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. She was a registered nurse at the WVU Medicine Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit and completed her training at Maryville University.

HOSPITAL MEDICINE

Ryan Rafa, PA-C, joins WVU Medicine as a physician assistant with the hospitalist service at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. He completed training at West Liberty University.

NEUROSURGERY

Ana Brandt, PA-C, joins WVU Medicine as a physician assistant at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. She completed training at Duquesne University.

PEDIATRICS

Utkarsh Kohli, MD, joins WVU Medicine Children’s as a pediatric cardiologist. He completed two fellowships, pediatric cardiology and pediatric cardiac electrophysiology, at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr. Kohli completed a pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital of Michigan. He was formerly a pediatric electrophysiologist at the University of Chicago.

SURGERY

Sebastian Brooke, MD, joins WVU Medicine as a microsurgery and pediatric craniofacial surgeon at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. He completed a microsurgical reconstructive fellowship at UPMC and a pediatric craniofacial surgery fellowship at Royal Children’s Hospital of Melbourne, Australia. Dr. Brooke is a former adjunct professor and microsurgery fellowship co-director at Baylor Scott & White, Texas A&M.

Bridgeport

EMERGENCY MEDICINE

Kyle Lehosit, PA-C, joins WVU Medicine a physician assistant at the United Hospital Center. He completed training at Alderson Broaddus University.

Martinsburg

NEUROSURGERY

Mitch Maser, PA-C, joins WVU Medicine as a physician assistant at the neurosurgery clinic in Martinsburg. He completed training at University of St. Francis.

Parkersburg

COMMUNITY PRACTICE

Casey Lassiter, PA-C, joins WVU Medicine as a physician assistant with the neurosurgery practice in Parkersburg. She completed training at Marietta College.

Uniontown

HEART AND VASCULAR INSTITUTE

Francis Ergina, MD, joins WVU Medicine as an interventional cardiologist with the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute at Uniontown Hospital. He practiced at UPMC, McKeesport for the majority of his career.

Wheeling

HEART AND VASCULAR INSTITUTE

Francis Ergina, MD, joins WVU Medicine as an interventional cardiologist with the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute at Wheeling Hospital. He practiced at UPMC, McKeesport for the majority of his career.

Lisa Kazmirski, FNP, joins WVU Medicine as a cardiology nurse practitioner at Wheeling Hospital. She was previously at Valor Health. She completed the family nurse practitioner program at Wheeling Jesuit University.

Ganga Prabhakar, MD, joins WVU Medicine as the surgical director of cardiac surgery with the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute at Wheeling Hospital. He formerly practiced at the Iowa Heart Center, MercyOne, in Des Moines. He practiced at WVU for seven years prior to that appointment and trained at WVU as well.
