  • Dr. Michael Edmond named CMO for WVU Health System

    The West Virginia University Health System and the West Virginia University School of Medicine’s affiliated practice plan, University Health Associates, announced the appointment of Michael B. Edmond, MD, MPH, MPA, MBA., as the WVU Health System’s new chief medical officer, the chief executive of University Health Associates, and the vice dean for clinical affairs and chief medical officer of WVU Hospitals. Dr. Edmond will join WVU Medicine in November.

    Julie Phillips, MD, has been named the inaugural medical director of the Pediatric Emergency Department at WVU Medicine Children’s. Dr. Phillips will also serve as division director for Pediatric Emergency Medicine within the Department of Emergency Medicine and will lead the educational and operational missions of the division. She is expected to begin her new duties in October.
