POC renovations moving toward completion
Monday, January 28, 2019
Phase Two of third-floor construction to the Physician Office Center is scheduled to be finished in March or April, while the addition of two new floors is expected to be complete by the end of 2019.
Phase One of the third floor was completed and opened to the public in December 2018. It features new floors and ceilings, fresh paint, newly-renovated rooms, and new cabinetry. Similar additions will be made to the other half of the third floor during Phase Two. When completed, the third floor will feature an open waiting room that will serve patients on the entire third floor.
The work is being completed in three phases to keep clinics open. Services on the third floor include:
- Electroencephalogram / electromyogram testing
- Medical Group Practice (Internal Medicine)
- Family Medicine (hospital discharge clinic)
- Medical Specialties (Adult Cystic Fibrosis, Digestive Diseases, Infectious Diseases, Pulmonary and Critical Care, Sleep Disorders)
Otolargyngology (ENT) will move to the third floor during Phase Three.
The POC renovation project began in 2016. The fourth floor and second floor have been completed. The first floor will also be renovated but no definite timeline has been established yet.
In addition to the third-floor renovation, a fifth and sixth floor will be added to the building. The fifth floor will house neurosciences services and the sixth floor will be used for office space. The addition is scheduled to be open by the end of 2019 but no date has been set yet for opening to patients.
