WVU Cancer Institute to host Pink Party for Bonnie's Bus
Friday, September 13, 2019
The event will be held at Bartini Prime in Morgantown and will feature live entertainment by singer Bobby Nicholas, food, music, and live and silent auctions. The doors will open at 5 p.m. with live entertainment starting at 6 p.m. Tickets are $100 and will be available at the door.
The Bonnie’s Bus Mobile Mammography Program began its screenings in 2009 through a donation from Jo and Ben Statler and recently performed its 20,000th mammogram.
Since the program began, at least 90 cases of breast cancer have been detected through screenings provided by the Bus. Regular breast screenings can allow for the early detection and treatment of breast cancer.
Bonnie’s Bus provides screenings to patients in all 55 counties, and no woman over the age of 40 is turned away due to a lack of insurance. Funding for underinsured and uninsured patients is provided through grants and private donations.
Tickets can be purchased at wvucancer.org/ThePinkParty or at the event.
Those who cannot attend the Pink Party can support Bonnie’s Bus online at wvucancer.org/give.
