Mini Colon on display at Cheat Lake Physicians March 4-8
Thursday, February 28, 2019
The public is invited to stop by WVU Cheat Lake Physicians to see the Mini Colon, a special educational exhibit about the colon, which will be on display March 4-8. The Mini Colon is a 4-foot by 6-foot inflatable colon that shows what a healthy colon looks like, as well as what it looks like when cancer and other colon abnormalities are present.
Staff from WVU Cheat Lake Physicians will be available to show you the colon display, share information, and answer questions.
Colon cancer does not always have symptoms, which is why it is important to test for it, even when feeling healthy. Regular testing can find cancer early when it is small and easier to treat and cure. Everyone is at risk for colon cancer and should be tested regularly, starting at age 50. There are different colon cancer tests available – even a simple, low-cost test that can be done in the privacy of your own home.
