Empty Bowls looking for volunteers
Tuesday, February 5, 2019
Empty Bowls Monongalia needs more than 500 volunteers for a wide range of duties, including its Feb. 23 luncheon.
To volunteer, visit: https://ebmon.org/get-involved/volunteers/. The link provides more information about opportunities and details such as age restrictions, links to descriptions of different volunteer positions, and the number of volunteers still needed for the positions.
To volunteer for the luncheon, however, do not register online. Instead, email Mike or Tammy Miller at firstname.lastname@example.org and indicate the position(s) and shift(s) you’re availalbe to work. It’s fine to volunteer for multiple positions/shifts.
Last year, about 2,000 patrons were served lunch between 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
Empty Bowls raises money to combat food insecurity in Monongalia County. Last year, it raised and distributed $140,000 to 23 pantries, meal programs and school backpack programs that submitted grants to the organization.
WVU Medicine is a sponsor.
